#FlowerFriday

Today, as Flower Friday we traveled to Hampton Court Palace where we were able to tale in the scenery and enjoy the arrangements of many different species of flowers.

Hampton Court Palace Gardens covers 750 acres of land, the formal gardens covers 60 acres and the palace buildings cover 6 acres and are all set within a loop of the river Thames.

In 1514, the Parrish of Hampton, Thomas Wolsey, Archbishop of York began building a magnificent palace on the north bank of the river Thames.

Edward VI, Mary I, and Elizabeth I all stayed at the Hampton Court at times during their reigns, although none made any significant additions or alterations to the palace.
In 1537, Jane Seymour gave birth to the future King Edward VI at Hampton Court.

These were some of the pictures taken today by the students.

The Great Vine was planted in 1768 by the celebrated gardener "Capability" Brown, the magnificent Great Vine is the largest in the world and still produces a yearly crop of black, sweet grapes.
